But what type of parental leave is available in the states? In Texas? And then if we look at these children who are comitting "mass murders" they're not lacking for anything materially, yet I wonder how much social support they've had? The American dream?

Up here in Ontario, the present government is cutting back on services. In my opinion I would rather provide money to these social services than policing.

But then out east, there was a little girl who's family was getting assistance by through these "services" and yet the child was starved and tortured til she died. The judge made the community erect a monument of the girl, so that they would all remember how they failed her; neighbours (they lived in an apartment building,) protective workers, the parents, etc.

Some communities are erecting walls, to keep them safe, and yet it maybe there own family members that they need to fear.

Hopefully, we'll learn from this. Yes the husband should have done somethings differently, easy to say now when we're looking back. I still feel for the family. They were in unfamilar water, but the doctors treating her should have done more. They prescribed medication, perhaps they could have insisted on childcare, homecare, etc. They should have known what they were dealing with. Perhaps they could have given the couple more information about depression, post-partum depression, the chance of recurrence with another pregnancy, etc.

Blaming anyone at this point is useless. This couple will have to live with this for the rest of their lives.
