Noa - The vast number of people in the West voted Jean Cretian (Cretin?) for another 4 years. The Liberals won just over 170 of the 301 seats (majority government, sigh), but they only won 14 seats in the west. Again, the west gets screwed by the east. Sometimes I think we'd be better off to go it alone and forge ties with the States, rather than having Ottawa suck our natural resourses dry, take taxes from us and give them to the "have not" provinces (all of which, by coincidence, are in Eastern Canada: the Atlantic provinces and Quebec) as "transfer payments".

How soon people forget. Last election he promised to get rid of our federal sales tax (GST), but almost ended up raising it. Our Prime Minister also keeps getting away with giving large government grants to friends and constituents, gets called on it, but nothing happens. This is the same guy who says he "knows" street people and they tell him that they "want to live in the streets". He was also the guy who had the RCMP pepper spray peaceful protesters in Vancouver and, on another occation physically choked a protester who got in his face. Sometimes I think that Canadians really don't know what's going on.
