You sound very happy with your 'other half', congrats on making it last:-)
I think that if you can find other things to do (clubs to join/books to read/places to visit - alone or even better, with friends) then it will make you an even more enriched and interesting person for when you do see him.
Think of the things you'll be able to tell him about. I'm sure he will love and respect you even more for being a strong person who goes places and does things and then shares the experiences with him.
