Can mania replace stimulants when needed?

Posted by rjlockhart on March 27, 2006, at 19:29:42 [reposted on March 28, 2006, at 17:44:21 | original URL]

Yes, i have been taken off Dexedrine 40mg daily.

I wanted to ask can mania replace the alertness that stimulants produce because my mother took me off Dexedrine and i have been having a hard time in class. I have to try to set off mania.

She said she would NOT send me to college if i was prescribed stimulants. If she found a bottle she would call the doctor, tell him that i am dependent on it, and threatned to not send me to collage. I have got to get a job and get out of here. But i am having trouble getting a job.

And... if the college doctors prescribed it, she would make threats, call the doctor, she seriously track down the number. She would try to put me BACK into a mental hostpital.

Anyways, besides all this stuff, i wanted to know if mania can replace stimulants.

Thanks.

Matt
