Yeah. There's the neediness and selfishness of the relationship. But also, whenever I think of him becoming ill or something, I get sad that I can't help him. After he got back from knee surgery, he was on a walker and I asked him if I could do something for him -- fill his water bottle, get him some lunch. He thanked me but siad he had a friend bringing him lunch. I always feel kind of shut out after interchanges like this. I am not as important to him as he is to me.
