At a guess, it sounds as if both your former pdocs are out of their depth and know it. They probably don't want to be in contact with you for fear of inadvertently establishing a therapeutic connection. I think they ought to at least be up front and tell you so. Have they at least had that conversation with you?
You probably would do better trying to find a therapist with expertise in those areas. Mind you, it is possible for a therapist to stretch to help a client when there is already a good connection and an established therapeutic connection. That may or may not work. But not all therapists are willing to try it, and probably most therapists have sense of what they can and can't handle well.
Is it possible to find a therapist with expertise with families dealing with autism? That might be your best bet in getting past feeling stuck.
