I celebrate my therapist and the relationship I have built with him. Not that I think he's perfect, but there is something healing about recognizing his imperfections and still valuing the relationship we have painstakingly built.
I honor his willingness to examine himself and his part of our relationship, and to be appropriately honest about himself in our relationship. It seems like a rare enough quality in therapists. To be honest, not about his life, but about the here and now.
I love the way he is receptive and open, but with a solid core that all my storms can't shake. It makes him safe. I love the sense of humor he's allowed himself to show in the therapy room. I love his good sense in relationships.
