Witti, glad you're back. Help with Safari/Firefox

Posted by rskontos on June 26, 2009, at 23:36:21

Babble on safari or firefox. Go to Finder, click on it from your dock.

Go then to applications, click on it once. It will open all the applications like Safari and Firefox . Then click first on Safari, it will open in the preview window information about Safari, there will be at the bottom a button called More Info. Click that and it will open another window with more information regarding Safari( this window will open to the far left). Make sure the box labelled Rosetta is not checked. Safari doesn't need to open using Rosetta. Then closed everything including Safari and reopen. Try to connect to babble. If that doesn't work then go to Safari button at the top left of your screen and click it and select reset safari. This will take it back to your default settings from the factory. Then close it all again. Reopen safarri and try to reload Babble. Also on the Safari button at the top click it and empty cache. All of these things I am telling you will hang up Safari sometimes. If none of these work, then go back to Safari button up at the left click preferences, click show cookies and delete them all. You will lost all saved passwords but that if ok. Closing Safari between all these seems like a wast but it is necessary for it to update itself. You can always restart at this point as well.

Now with Firefox, do the same thing in Finder as I said about Safari. Go to applications in the finder window, click on Firefox, click more information and see if Rosetta box is checked or unchecked. If unchecked, check it, close everything, but before you do that do the same thing to Firefox and delete all cookies etc. I forget it Firefox has a cache button. If you continue to have problems I will reload Firefox on my mac and walk you thru all of this to help you resolve. That is another option will Firefox. Delete it entirely and then re-install. But do what I said first. I can help you with this part if you need it.

Close all programs and restart your mac. See then if either will start. If not,

babblemail me and I will give you more tips.

take care, glad you are back too.

rsk

Babble sometimes gives me problems that is why I know about these fixes.
