Is this common w/others who have ADD?
I have no sense of time. Past, present, future seem similar; present and future seem to be the same moment, like it's all one cognitive dimension. Is this just same strange defect I have, or is this common with people who have ADD? Could this be related to autism?
Writing about songs made me think of this. I connect times in my life with songs, and feel those times in the present when I hear them, like events are not memories but instead are 'absorbed' into me...(maybe its emotions not memories?)..and can't remember when things in the past happened, or don't remember a lot of the past; but what I do remember clearly, doesn't seem long ago. I have no clue as to how many years had passed-Like when I said I started college when I was 28 on another post, I later thought real hard about the age I did this or that based on just a couple dates I could remember - and I was years off. I was actually 32. For half of this year, I actually thought I was one year older than I am. How could a person possibly forget their own age?
I also have anxiety, and am wondering if that has anything to do with it. Anxiety tends to revolve around the future-but if the future is actually in one's present-or to rephrase that, maybe I live in the future--how could you not have anxiety?
So I realize similar traits manifest from ADD, like what you'd find on the Connor scale; yet, from observing people here, and comments and experiences, it seems the traits emerge in different ways for ADDers.
Okay..I probably need to stop with the questions and get back to my work.
