Yes, I agree with all that has been said.
I've been with my current therapist about 6 months and was with my former one for almost 3 years-- I had a break between the two of about a year. My current T. did not ask or receive records from my former T. and as far as talking about the former T.-- it's all up to me..... If I want to talk about him I do, and it goes no further than that....... my current T. doesn't ask me anything about it unless I bring it up first.
I don't know your circumstances but if you pay for any part of your visits-- I say it's up to you as to what you want to talk about and what needs fixing in your daily life-- it's your money and your time.
