I love Jeffrey Kottler and have read most everything he's written, including the technical stuff.
I found him with the book ""Compassionate Therapy: Working with Difficult Clients". I love his style. He's a riveting storyteller. I've often thought I'd hate being his client though. His avowed restlessness and love of change would be a poor match for me.
I'm not sure any books can answer the questions we ask here, because we want to know "how does MY therapist feel about ME".
My perception is that my therapist has recently made the shift to being more disclosing of his feelings (as a therapist) than he used to be. I *think* that was a therapeutic decision, and if it wasn't, it just as well could be.
There are a handful of authors in this field who are on my mental list for Amazon searches for new books. Kottler is one. And my all time favorite Irvin Yalom. I don't think Steven Levenkron has written anything lately, but I loved his books too.
