happyflower, you are a very strong person, and your strength protected both you AND your brother. But you were just a wee one, and you mother was cruel beyond words.
Your numbness is OKAY, it will protect you and help you get through the next little bit. Your body will tell you when it's time to process. You have a lot of tools at your disposal-- babblechat, T, h, posting. Use them when you are ready. Remember, we can handle a LOT of pain. That's what makes us survivors.
At the same time, though, you should allow yourself a moment here and there to grieve, to FEEL. It's okay, you won't be destroyed. You can summon the strength to call up the tears. Maybe therapy will be a good place to explore the grief process.
