I'm sure the news is hard for you. I tried to imagine how it would be if I were in your shoes. I don't like 3 week long vacations let alone several months.
Yup, we'll be here for you. I would try to see someone else while he's gone, at least a few times a month or something like that.
I hope he gives you something tangible to hold on to while he's gone. I also hope you can work through his absence during the sessions that you do have with him before Dec.
