(((Muffled))) I find it quite disorienting, too, and hard to keep track of. But it's all quite understandable, given the circumstances. Once someone's privacy has been compromised, the breach of trust demands that we protect ourselves with whatever means necessary. Changing our posting name is simple, and sometimes a short term measure that can help us feel safe.
I see this morning that some administrative action has been taken, so there's some time for the dust to settle on this one. And I do think there's a serious discussion that needs to happen amongst ourselves about how we feel when we perceive our friendship has been betrayed. It's perhaps my biggest trigger - of all of them - and it's deeply rooted in my history. I haven't even been able to talk to my therapist about it yet.
For me the most upsetting aspect of this has been that this upheaval has been an internal problem; and "funny", not ha ha at all but ha ha how uneasy I feel thinking about it now, is remembering how frantically somebody was trying to keep track of who had changed names to what. Shudder. Now THAT really creeps me out.
Muffled, this is a journey like any other we take. I am so glad to have such a strong group of friends with whom to share the experience. I know that we all will emerge stronger because of it.
