The process itself took about 5 sessions. I was told to expect more or less... it was a different kind of therapy for me because it wasn't my usual therapist, but someone she referred me to specifically for the EMDR. Once the treatment was done, I went back to my regular T.

I found that right after the sessions my head would feel exceptionally clear and light. I felt clean, somehow, and extraordinary. As if I'd be able to hold up my hands and see through them like glass, because I'd be able to see everything just to precisely and sharply. And everything around me seemed more vivid and colourful, and more full of life than usual.

I must remember this. Because it was just my perceptions, of course. The world is as drab or as beautiful as I'm able to see it. Isn't that wild?

I remember too, that this feeling would leave me really abruptly, after an hour or two of treatment. I would make certain that I was home and curled up on a sofa or in bed with a cup of tea when it would hit, because I'd get very tired.
