It isn't what they say. The healing part is in the relationship. That they care enough to listen to you, and to try to respond. They aren't going to solve all your problems for you. Only you can do that. But people in this world care about you. And their view of you can help support your own view until you are feeling better.
It takes work to climb out of depression. Heaven knows that you know that. You've done it before, and I really believe that it gets easier each time, because you learned some skills in the past that you can use. And because you know that it IS POSSIBLE to feel better. You are not doomed to be miserable for the rest of your life. The work is very hard work - but who told you live would be easy??
Remember what it feels like to be feeling good. That is worth working for. It wasn't hopeless before and it isn't hopeless now.
Please?
Love,
Falls
