Suicidal friend, klonopin and alcohol problem

Posted by bql on March 27, 2007, at 14:24:47

Hi! Please help me! One of my best friends is suicidal and there has formed a tricky situation. Almost everytime we meet he tells me how hard everything is, that he suffers emotional pain etc. Last time we met he told me that he has collected 300 mg of klonopin and that he also has a lot of vodka and that he is going to use this combination any nearest evening so he would die and escape from the pain. Will that combo really kill him? He's twenty, weighs about 165lb and is pretty healthy. I'm asking this because I need to know whether I should or shouldn't tell about this to anyone. He told me not to tell and I know that he really trusts me as a friend but if the combo is deadly I think I'll just need to because I don't want him to die. But if it isn't than I think I'm just going to continue to spend evenings with him and try to convince him to choose life, because than I will be sure that nothing's going to happen even if he uses the drugs and alcohol. So is it? If it is than who should I contact first?
