I have stories from my own family:
My aunt, on being told I was was experiencing another episode of major depression:
"What are you depressed about? You have to be depressed about something."
About my weight, after I told them that it was because of the antidepressant I was on:
"Well, then you shouldn't take it. No wonder you're depressed." (Unsaid part: 'no wonder you're depressed, you're FAT!')
And I won't go on. I'm crying too much today anyway...
