In one hour (Tues 6/20/06), the Diane Rehm Show on NPR will have an interview with sociologist Eviatar Zerubavel, author of "The Elephant in the Room: Silence and Denial in Everyday Life".
It's a live, hour-long, call-in show beginning at 11:00 AM Eastern U.S. time. Call 800-433-8850 during the show or email questions in advance to drshow@wamu.org. Find stations, listen live online, or (later) download the audio archive at http://www.wamu.org/programs/dr/06/06/20.php#10759
The book is about conspiracies of silence in which everyone knows about some big thing but people never mention it and maneuvre around it socially. One review says that the book is good but offers nothing groundbreaking and that "there are 60 pages of references for just 85 pages of text," so a radio interview might be preferrable to buying it.
