Racer,
What an wonderful post. I have long struggled with "does my T care about me at all" and your teaching analogy really hit home for me.

I teach as well and I do care for all of my students. There is just something about them that touches me a lot. Even the ones, as you say, I don't necessarily like.

I think that is exactly what t's feel about their clients. It is not an all consuming kind of love, but it is love pure and simple.
