CBT information wanted

As some of you may know, Dr.Beck and Dr. Burns at the U. of Penn, pioneered CBT in the US.
Few seem to be aware that the therapy was initially used/developed to treat unemployed males in the area. (steelworkers and coal miners).
I can't find any reference to this on the web.
Can anyone help?
