I have anxiety attacks, too, but believe it or not after 2 years of therapy they have stopped and I can control them. I found that through therapy (talking) that I finally found out "why" I was having them, and then I processed that information fully (this took a long time) and was I able to control them. However, until you can full process "why" I recommednd talking to a pdoc and getting ativan. It saved my life, and I was a big on "no drugs" for me. Well, when you know you are going to have one it's so great to take a pill (like you would for a headache) and the anoxety is gone. because I found it almost impossible to deal with the anxiety once I was having it and there is no rational way to stop it in the beginning. BTW, I don't rely on the ativan. You can stop them! I never thought I would but I did.
