I can quite understand the feeling of not wanting to go a male therapist. Part of the reason why I chose a female T as my second T was due to that.
You are also right about the possibility of having different view points from a female T.
But I possibly may not have been comfortable with a striking looking female T or female T of my age. My female T was 20 years older to me, and it felt comfortable. I wonder if I would have been quite that comfortable with a 30 + female T. I might have had lot of tendency to compare myself unfavourably with her. I even had that tendency with my male T also. I used to wish why I wasn't like him !!
Your real T might have wanted to do something different for a long time. Perhaps it is a growth for him that he is entitled to. But I am glad he continues to keep in touch with you and offers you help. I think you deserve that after all the hard efforts that you have invested in your relationship with your real T. (you should invent a better name for your real T :-) to refer to now that you have two Ts)
I hope all goes well for you.
