One thing I have observed in my experience, is that meditation is very helpful for mental health issues.. Especially for me, it always has a dramatic effect. I don't even concentrate on something or intensely focus on anything.. I kind of repeat a mantra again and again - and in half hour, it produces so much of relaxation, and the whole day is better. I can get work done in much shorter time. My mind is more focussed, I am more peaceful, and I am more happy those days.
Therapy can be combined with some form of meditation, and it really might help some people. Especially early morning meditation really really helps. And if you have tried therapy and are finding it hard to break through some tough barriers, maybe meditation would help.
(I thought I might share so in case someone wants to try.. Also if you want to try the particular chanting I do, you can babble mail me. It is a little hindu religious oriented, but nevertheless, it is very effective. )
