I don't tend to come here often because I've never had therapy or counselling and more often than not tend to doubt the value of anything I'd be likely to contribute.
But I do come here because people I've grown to care an awful lot about post here and who knows just maybe sometimes simply letting them know you're here listening matters.
As to why men become therapists, well from some of the stuff I've seen here, serving the greater good sure as [insert appropriate term] don't seem to be it. I don't know, maybe it's that male need to fix things. May be it's a need to be worshipped, adored or admired I don't know. [Sorry, I'm in a place right now where to say I was overly negative about everything would be puting a positive spin on it]. What Lar said sounded pretty reasonable to me except the part about being a thread killer.
