He didn't cancel. Neither did I.
It was kind of a nice session considering that we talked about something really scary. Other than this. It sort of came from this.
But he brought this up and we did talk about it. He didn't admit to countertransference, he said it was possible but he didn't admit to it. He said he was trying to exaggerate to make a point, and he used the wrong exaggeration and ended up not even making the point.
He said he was sorry that he made everything feel icky, and that he hoped one day I wouldn't feel icky about therapy anymore. I hope so too.
He's really good at apologizing. He didn't mention transference once. Even though I told him how it reminded me of when Daddy made me quit sitting on his lap.
And he didn't punish me by trying to be a blank slate either. He was normal.
The training wasn't on how to get rid of interminable clients. He said only I would take his avoidance of the topic by figuring there would be a one week seminar on getting rid of clients.
