I first talked to my T about PB several years ago and her reaction was kneejerk negative. We didn't talk about it in depth then, so I'm speculating that her objection was to seeking help on-line instead of IRL. We have revisited my participation here many times. She doesn't like the fact that I tend to process things on my own or here before I bring them to her - generally stripped by then of their emotional content. On the other hand she recognizes that I might never bring them to her if I didn't have the opportunity to process first. She knows that sometimes this site can be a real trigger for me. While that can be unfortunate, in her mind it also is grist for therapy - sometimes the best we have since I shy away from talking to her about most of my IRL relationships. A few years ago she was pretty helpful with my effort to come to terms with the death of a PB poster. Seeing my reaction to it made her realize that some of the relationships I've formed here are every bit as real as some of the more conventional IRL relationships.
I don't think she uses the internet alot, so I think her experience with me has introduced her in a way to the world of on-line support.
