I guess it depends on what you mean by extended...I find traveling really hard right now and I use to love it. I think it is a safety thing for me.

Usually I make a plan with my therapist for phone contact. We match schedules and try to at least touch base and check in. When he went on vacation, he put things in place to help me get through it.

I would guess if you were going away to school for months and months you might need an "interim" therapist for support.
