Several years ago I was visiting my mother when thoughts of my T kept drifting in and out of my consciousness. It took me a while to figure it out, but my mother was wearing the exact same perfume my T always wears. It totally upset my balance. In my mind, the two of them are so different!! But, in actuality, I've learned they are both my mother. I just don't want them to be the same one!
My mother never wears that perfume anymore. I don't even see the bottle on her shelf anymore. Guess she got the message when I told her.
Sometimes it's spooky how my therapy imitates my life.
