Hi All!
OK This may seem a bit odd but not coming out of left field (pun intended.) I am a HUGE New York Yankees fan. I have been all my life. All season long they have enjoyed a comfortable perch in first place. However, as of late, their eternal rival, the Boston Red Sox, are quickly gaining ground on them.
So heres my dilema. I am absolutely obsessed with how the season will finish out. A Yankee win or loss or a Red Sox win or loss can throw off my mood so far in either direction. I am fully aware that: 1. I have absolutely ZERO control of the outcomes of any of these games. 2. Win or lose, my life is not directly effected. However- even being concious of these 2 points, I cannot let go. I sit and watch every pitch of every inning of every game. As I type this, NY still has a grip on first. WHY AM I SO SCARED THAT BOSTON WILL CATCH THEM????? I am almost embarrased writing this at the absurdity of it!! I have always had difficulty dealing with things out of my control, but in the 20-some odd years Ive been a fan- I can NEVER recall it being this bad.
Any pointers? tips? suggestions?? thanks!!!
Andy
