Sweetie,
It sure sounds like you are in a rough place. I don't think I ever told you that I admire your pesistence in reaching out. Maybe if I had said that when I thought it, you might feel a bit more supported. Or maybe it's the moon. Also, when you asked the guest expert to review the thread and give us insight into when and how it started to turn sour, I thought that was a great question. Assessing the process is a good way to learn.

The housework...will that be therapeutic for you, or a chore? My hubby and I own a 50 + year old house which was last decorated about 25 years ago, I think. Tearing up carpet and throwing it down the basement stairs was oh so therapeutic for me. My sister was helping me, and as we heaved each bundle of carpet, we gave it a name of a person or a hurt. Felt GREAT to give anger and hurt the ol' heave-ho! And I like painting (oops, originally typed "paining"...darn that Freud!) but hate the prep and clean up. But just rolling can be almost a meditative experience. Do you suppose you can pay the professionals to prep and clean up, but let you do the actual painting? ;)

Take care, and please keep posting only if it feel okay to you.

gg
