I don't know. I tend to agree with Dinah. I was "fired" by a client once. Actually more than once. I have also had people "quit" therapy. In the case where I always say I was "fired" it just wasn't a good fit. I couldn't be what she was looking for. She was better off without me, and hopefully, with someone who could be what she wanted/needed.
My T challenged me on this when I told him I was "fired", though. He thought I was being down on myself. Not really. I wasn't upset when she told me. I agreed with her. But he didn't like the word "fired". Maybe it was too soon in our relationship for him to think about the possibility? :)
