Everything you are feeling is perfectly normal and dozens of us here have gone thru the same thing. To get a good background, you may want to search this forum using the word "transference". There you will see a lot of wisdom from many smart posters who can explain it better than I can.

An excellent book is "In Session"

A good, experienced therapist will not discharge you for transference, since they should know it is a common outgrowth of therapy. In fact, it is considered a goal by many therapists, although that may sounds strange to you as you suffer through the feelings of yearning.

A not-so-good therapist may not be able to handle it. There are those rare occasions.

How and when you tell him or her is up to you. Some people just come out with it, other people allude to it in dreams etc., others don't say anything. I think the basic idea is that talking about it is a way to deal with it and move through it, but that can be easier said than done.

You are not alone in this, just do a search, and you will see. :)
