> I just finished a year of EMDR. Has anyone else done it? My life has changed totally and I feel like a new person in so many ways. The underlying tensions I used to carry around within me are gone...funny before the tensions left I really didn't know I had them. I thought that it was common to be so tense. Feed back anyone?

EMDR worked really well for me, in dealing with a recent mugging, because I had a vivid recollection of the scene. It didn't work so well for childhood stuff, because it was all blurred together, really, like a generic memory rather than a specific event. Getting that triggering memory to "start the tapes rolling" seems to be an important element of success with this method.

For sure, though, exceedingly cathartic. I think I weighed half as much when I walked out after a session, I felt so unburdened.
