It may be embarassing but you need to tell your psychiatrist. Probably a psychiatrist, not a general practitioner or therapist. There are many possibilities, I'm sure, including OCD for example. No one can diagnose online.
But there are medications that can help you. There are many good medications for OCD, if that is appropriate, or there are low dose antipsychotics, if that would help. They're pretty good too for recurring thoughts.
No need to be embarassed, *at all*. Your psychiatrist will have heard a heck of a lot worse. You haven't done anything. You've just had thoughts. And thoughts, however frightening, never hurt anyone.
So take a deep breath and make a phone call to your psychiatrist if you have one, or to your g.p. for a referral to a psychiatrist if you don't.
Don't worry about embarassment. Thoughts are just thoughts.
But do get help from a psychiatrist. With medications to help, there is no reason to suffer one minute longer than you need to. You're just hurting yourself by letting embarassment stand in your way.
