What I find so interesting about transferences is that they are so individual.
You talk about anger and rage. I could never be angry at my therapist (maybe that would be too threatening for me). Except that I am angry at my old therapist, and that started on my last day with her - I never went back. Interesting?
My transference is more fearful. I'm afraid that he is angry, and afraid for what that means (that I am bad). Then I frantically try to make him happy.
I guess this just underscores that transferences do come from the patient - from whatever within the patient is important. It's all the same phenomena, but it is different for each of us.
