Sorry to hear that. Therapy business must be pretty good that they can turn down insurance.
There must be a way to get ultra-cheap therapy. You know, they all have to put in like 2000 hours of clinical work to get licensed, and it's typically minimum wage for them-- so I wonder if there are any groups run by therapists-in-training?
Group therapy can be pretty cheap anyway-- can you afford anything out of pocket? I think I've seen ads for groups that are $20 per session. Check the classifieds in the alternative weekly.
And there's the cheapest of all -- the free non-facilitated groups like 12 steps. It's not exactly therapy, but you can vent and get support. Those also advertise in the paper.
