anxiety disorder caused by a traumatic event?

Posted by jjd on May 23, 2003, at 14:28:54

when i was 15 i took some LSD and also inhaled some nitrous oxide. after inhaling the nitrous oxide, i had a hallucination that i had died; i started screaming and was terrified. i, after a minute or two, realized that i was still alive but i have never been the same since. from the moment of that traumatic event until today (i'm now 30) i have been suffering from a never ending stream of worry/anxiety.

does anyone else believe that there anxiety disorder was brought on by a traumatic event or possibly drug usage?

explain your first experience with anxiety?
did something happen that "changed" you or was it a slow, gradual development?
