Mirah,
what you have is peripherial neuropathy, and your doctor should be wise enough to tell you that. It features a tingling, odd sensation in your hands and feet, possibly extending into your arms and legs.
I got it from Abilify and later Risperdal, two antipsychotics. It's rather rare with Effexor.
