Hi,
Thanks for your reply. Yes, I am still managing school though it is hard for me at times, but I am stickin with it and am finishing up my term and have signed up for the next term- eventually completing my BA in Psychology and a minor in Health. No, I do not have a therapist right now. I have done one on one, and group therapy off and on since 1995. Last time I did any kind of therapy was in March 2002.
I do remember the drug combo that worked wonders for me was 20mg Celexa, 50 mg Lamictal, and 2mg of Ativan, I was also in OA and did some EMDR with a great therapist. I do have family and friends that have helped me out alot-with what they can-at times it isn't much-but I am grateful., support etc., but I am wearing them out-that's not fair to them and I value their feelings very much. I bought a bicycle last week-because I love to ride and it's one form of exerise I love most. I haven't gone for a ride yet. I listen to music on a cd player headset, and it works great-helps me to fall asleep unless my meds do that already. I use a sound machine also which works well.
I am going to post more on your boards as I have been posting a lot on Psycho-babble.
Thank you both for such wonderful support
Hope this helped understand me more?
Thanks:-)
Kristen

Krissy - It might help if you told us a little more about yourself. Are you still managing school? Do you have a therapist? Has any drug combo worked for a period. Do you have family or friends who can help you out when you're really down?
Pretty much everyone here knows first hand how truly isolating depression can be and I think most of the people on this site who suffer from depression, must deal with it as a chronic remitting/relapsing illness. The people who respond optimally to drugs generally don't make their way here. On the other hand, as bad as things can sometimes get for all of us, this can be a wonderfully accepting and supportive community. Please keep posting, now that you're on our radar screen.
Mair
I agree with Mair.....I'm here because I don't respond ALL of the time to meds. Exercise helps me tremendously. Have you tried walking and listening to music on a headset? It allows me to just drift and not worry about my depression and such. Then of course it improves my health and etc. etc.....But stay on this board and tell us more.
