Need info about Paxil CR

Hi there,

I went through HELL last year going from 20 mg Paxil (after 6 yrs of use) down to 10 mg. I couldn't get below 10 mg. My biggest gripe was weight gain and sexual side affects, and of course, the HORRIBLE withdrawal. I just saw a psychiatrist for the first time in years. She offered me Paxil CR when I was complaining about the short life span of Paxil.
Is the CR any better or will it be just as hard to get off of?

I am considering taking the CR (she gave me samples) to get off the regular Paxil and then try to detox of the CR so I can try something else. She suggested Effexor might work for me. She claims there is no weight gain with that one. We didn't talk about other side effects....
