To slightly change the subject, Rupert has been around all my life. And he had a certain touch. Opposed the Vietnam War in the 60s, always ended up backing the winner so as to make a claim on the relevant regulations.
Then we had Trump, Johnson and Morrison.
Here's a Boris link.

Morrison impressed even Trump with his wickedness.
https://www.theguardian.com/australia-news/2020/dec/22/trump-awards-scott-morrison-legion-of-merit-for-leadership-in-addressing-global-challenges.We dodged a bullet this last time. Morrison was the sort of school kid who announced 'I don't have to stand in line with the rest of you. My father's the police chief and mayor.'
And when he was in the Young Liberals on welfare. 'We need to know where the money is being spent. If they take their family out to a Chinese restaurant, we need to know what it was spent on.' And so a woman who needed a special bra post mastectomy would have to ask special permission after a salutary wait.
The end game was the deconstruction of the administrative state, outsourcing of everything, and all welfare handled by the churches, particularly the evangelical ones. Medieval and theocratic. Here is Ronni Salt on Morrison.
