Australia had some sort of egalitarian/authoritarian tradition. And the neoliberal reforms here were brought in by the ALP, and were therefore more moderate and inclusive.

One important difference is compulsory voting and the acceptance of it. Around 80% of people vote.

How come the whole system is corrupt? Someone must vote them in. The entire Liberal Party membership here is extremist compared to how it was 40 years ago. So they misrepresent themselves to their constituents and sometimes get caught out.

Is it the liberal media in the US? The possible lesson that might be drawn from Trump is intentionally excluded by the Russia stuff.

The NYT has done a special on Murdoch, I hear. This dreadful politics is pure Murdoch
