The novel I am reading is set in Texas. An apocalyptic metaphoric overlay (is that even proper English?). I hadn't thought it till you mentioned it, but it seems to be. And how has that come to pass? Interesting. Maybe if I understood my own country's history better.
Yesterday 49 bodies were found on a highway connecting Monterrey Mexico to Southern Texas. Their heads, hands, and feet were missing. Drug cartels.
