I must say though, that the foreign policy debate firmed my belief in Huntsman's credentials as a policy wonk.
You might appreciate his stance on waterboarding.
"We diminish our standing in the world and the values that we project, which include liberty, democracy, human rights and open markets, when we torture," Huntsman said. "We lose that ability to project values that a lot of people in corners of this world are still relying on the United States to stand up for."
I liked his answer about China, too.
First of all, I dont think, Mitt, you can take China to the WTO on currency-related issues, Huntsman said. Second, I dont know that this country needs a trade war with China. So what should we be doing? We should be reaching out to our allies and constituencies within China. Theyre called the young people, theyre called the internet generation.
It would appear that he knows a fair amount about the internet generation. :)
