and the 'meaningful generalisation' is what tends to do more harm than good.
i mean...
say someone doesn't score very well on the test.
from there people get to 'you aren't a very good reasoner'
from there the person tends to take that on board and what...
doesn't bother trying.
self fulfilling prophecies.
but then maybe...
something is wrong with my reasoning ability ;-)
