I have no idea where to post this, but politics was as close as I could get so here goes
(By the way, before y'all tell me, I know that I cannot "fix" this for my son, but I just need to vent--
Our son, age 32, entered Officer's Candidate School six months ago. He has excelled at everything he has done. He is in great physical shape and plans to become a SEAL upon graduation...This is a big deal, mostly because of his age...but he was ready for the challange.
Anyway, yeaterday was the final PT (physical test) and he fell two push-ups short of qualifying. This means he must start all over and will probably not make SEAL!! For two lousy push-ups??!!
He is devistated, we are devistated and mainly, we are wondering what can he do?
There must be some legal process here -- some redress. Anyone who knows him knows that he can do at least ten more push-ups than what were required, but the testing officer kept telling him that his push-ups weren't "good enough" As a result he did not get in the required number in the required time.
I researched JAG and that is a possibility. However, we have been told that if he takes that road, it will be held against him!!
Give me a break! The military is the most undemocratic organization I have ever come across...I am sorry to "dump", but for my mental health I just needed to vent......Any Ideas??
