SERT transporter occupancy by escitalopram dose?

Posted by Franz on March 23, 2012, at 16:32:56

Hello, how can one know the % of serotonin tranporter occupancy according to diferent escitalopram doses?

"Single doses of 5, 10, or 20 mg escitalopram led to a mean SERT occupancy of 60+/-6, 64+/-6, and 75+/-5%, respectively. SERT occupancies for subjects treated with single doses of 10 and 20 mg citalopram were 65+/-10 and 70+/-6%, respectively"

http://www.ncbi.nlm.nih.gov/pubmed/16955282

It does not seem to make sense to take 10 mg instead of 5 mg.

How do you calculate the occupancy for 2.5 mg or other dose?

Thanks
