Phillipa..I sent u a babblemail.. i am thinking kind of slow today.. But no folic acid and deplin are two different things. Folic acid has to be converted to l-methylfolate, (deplin). before it can cross the blood brain barrier. You can have plenty of folic acid and still not be able to metabolize it into methyfolate. some studies have shown that depressed people can't metabolize enough folic acid into methyfolate so that there is a deficite in the brain for neurotransmission..this is kind of a simple way to put it but it is basically how it works
