It's just that I use l-lysine when I get cold sores and so does my dad when he gets shilgles. My uncle is a naturopath and suggest it to both of us. It aids the healing process and has sometimes actually stopped the blister from popping if you get onto it as soon as you feel that first tingle. Good luck M. Zovirax is for external use only so you are right. I wouldn't put it in your mouth. Sorry again
